Who is Water Mission?

Water Mission is a nonprofit Christian engineering organization that designs, builds and implements safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas. Since 2001, Water Mission has used innovative technology and engineering expertise to provide access to safe water for more than 3 million people in 52 countries.

How does Walk for Water benefit Water Mission?

The Walk for Water is a fundraising and awareness initiative of Water Mission. The Charleston Walk is Water Mission’s flagship event, and all other walks around the country are hosted by third-parties. To host your own walk, check out the Host a Walk tab.

Where does the money go?

Funds raised are used where they are most needed to provide safe water and sanitation around the world. Charity Navigator has awarded Water Mission their top rating nine years in a row, a distinction shared by only one percent of the charities rated by the organization. For a more detailed breakdown of how Water Mission allocates funds, see our financial statements at watermission.org.

What's up with the whole "I AM X" thing?

I AM X is the theme of the 2016 Walk for Water initiative. The Charleston Walk, hosted by Water Mission, will be using I AM X promotional materials. These will be made available to any walk around the country to use for branding and design. Fill out the form on our Host a Walk page to access the I AM X resources, or watch the video above for an explanation of the theme.
